Here are my Micro Racers planes made by Plantraco. I have a P-51 Miss America with rudder and elevator control, and a P-51 Invader with aileron and elevator control. See photos below. I added the MicroInvent MINOR RX to the Miss America using 130 mAh, and 145 mAh battery packs, and have had great flights. This is a good setup for longer flights, you can use your standard TX, and it has a plug-in battery. The P-51 Invader with ailerons flies well, but longer ailerons would have been better. See the short video below. |
I made a balsa and tissue version of this plane called the K-59 Stouts, and had many flights. This plane has some variations from the original design like a larger wing area for slower flight, and slightly larger control surfaces. The rudder has almost full deflection for fast turns, and this well trimmed plane flew great after I changed to a flatter wing. I now have a MicroLite film wing on the plane. See the photos below of the original version with cambered wings, and the current flat wing plane that flies well. Click on the video links below to see this plane in flight. Other versions of this plane are the J-62, and recently I made the Tres with slightly cambered wings, powered by a Gasparin geared motor.
